The
electron device emphasis is for students who want to know how things work. Courses focus on the physics of electron devices, microelectronic circuits, radio, microwaves, and photonics. You will learn the design principles for devices and integrated circuits and prepare yourself for careers in the microelectronics, wireless, and telecommunications industries as well as in future technologies like microelectromechanical systems, biofluidics, nanoelectronics, and molecular electronics. As indicated, you can elect to extend your depth of knowledge into quantum mechanics and advanced semiconductor device design in the fourth year or develop a program which allows you to cross disciplines: e.g. chemistry, biology, and physics.
